Yesterday, after we went to the natural history museum, we stopped at the airport. Most of the kids had never seen the airport and the director wanted to give them the chance to see a new place. Standing outside the fence looking in, our hearts hurt a little knowing that the vast majority of these kids will never travel outside their very small world. The kids are figuratively standing outside of a prosperous, easy life, looking in. Their knowledge will be limited to the surrounding region and, unfortuately, what they see on tv. And although we will never be able to take all the kids around the world, we hope to expand their horizons by connecting them with sponsors in the United States in the Casa Shalom Child Sponsorship program. Watch for more details soon!
