In this photo, Eveyln shows off a bag of goodies she received from a group of North American visitors. The kids at Casa Shalom are so excited when they get even simple gifts - they were even excited about the pencil sharpeners included in the gift bags! These kids don't take the small things for granted. They light up when they're given things like pizza, ice cream or crayons. They were so excited that the director bought peanut butter for all the houses this weekend!
Things are going so well at Casa Shalom these days. The kids are happy, healthy for the most part, and looking forward to the end of the school year (October).
